So you want to be a moderator or content creator for rWiiHacks?¶
The Staff / Moderation¶
The moderators for our subreddit are volunteers and usually granted their title for what potential they have to bring to our community as well as what they’ve already done for our community.
If someone wears the title of ‘Staff’ or ‘Administrator’ or ‘Moderator’ it is because they brought something to the table to make our community grow in a positive way. Whether it’s funding for domains, moderating the subreddit, producing videos for the community, coding and bot development, ect, the person who wears any of these titles actively does something for our community.
Needless to say our skills are varied, and we are always looking for ways to grow our community.
What we need¶
Here’s a list of skills and abilities we have need and a firm support network for:
-
We almost always have a need for moderators. If you are interested, the only thing we ask of you is that you are active within the community. Those who are active already within the community are almost always considered.
-
Fullstack development, front end or back end. We’re currently running our web and data presence on Amazon AWS and we are always looking for both experienced developers and people willing to learn.
-
Coding and development. We have an active bot coding community, primary discord. We have knowledge of assorted languages and platforms, from hobbyist to college educated.
-
Media content production. We have experience in the video, audio, and publishing industry, again from hobbyist to professional level. We currently publish document content in the Wii Modding industry, as well as aesthetic art surrounding our community as well as video and audio content for platforms like YouTube and Twitch. Gameplay, instructionals, comedy, music. Currently this is one of our main focuses, and most productive branches.
-
Hardware/Computer/IT knowledge. Hobbyist to industry vets, yada yada. Anything from 3D printing, to PC construction, to console modification. If you have an interest and want to be part of an active community, that’s us!
What you must have¶
-
Time. Simply put. Anyone we see visibly putting time into the community is welcome. Spending time making yourself seen visible on any or all mediums on the community is the easiest thing a moderator can do for us. Stay Active.
-
The ability to moderate from a DESKTOP environment. Non-negotiable. You will also be required to use two-factor authentication.
-
The ability to be on at least our Discord. This is where we communicate, coordinate, etc. Mods that we never see on discord don’t last long.
-
That’s it really.
Content Creator¶
We’re currently open to anyone who wants to help us maintain and expand our every growing library of content. That consist of:
- Help create guides on reddit that are translated to our wiki/webhub
- Writing guides for our Wiki/Webhub directly
- Gameplay Videos, reviews, tutorials, etc.
If you have interest, we want to hear what you have to say!
Contact us¶
If you have any interest in any of the above, please feel free to contact a moderator or admin on either Reddit or Discord.
We’ll be glad to hear from you!
